Victoria Bixler Gill
Victoria is the hands-on owner of Gallery Six, Inc. can be seen on a daily basis, working the sales floor, ironing out freighting questions, or working directly with the Vendors. She graduated from Trinity University in San Antonio with a degree in Art and a passion for Art History. After many years as an Advertising company creative art director, she decided to revisit a childhood love of furniture and design. Many years of research and patience have resulted into what Gallery Six is today: A reliable resource for designers, home builders and architects. “Since 1992, I have enjoyed working with clients from all over the Country and World. Each day is an opportunity to meet new faces and share our knowledge of design and style. I do learn everyday.”
Attending multiple national furniture markets and events a year keep her current on trends and style. I believe that one must leave the showroom and be exposed to all different styles or art and furnishing to present an educated and constructive presentation both as and individual and as a Static Showroom. My ambition is to keep the showroom up to date and constantly changing. We want our designers to see a new, different and exciting showroom each time they visit. We are constantly moving rugs, lamps and furniture and painting wall, to keep you coming back.
Victoria is proud to present a philosophy through Gallery Six that puts the customer service first. The sale does not stop at the delivery, we would like to nurture an on-going relationship with each professional who graces our doorway.
Steven King
Native Texan from Wichita Falls, Texas
I was very excited to join the Gallery Six family in August of 2008.
Steven comes to Gallery six with over 25 years of hands on experience in the furniture and design industry.
My appreciation for Fine furniture, Design and Antiques came at a very early age thanks to my loving Grandparents Hubert and Johnnie King who for over 50 years owned and operated Kings Antiques in Henrietta Texas. I have very fond memories of spending summer breaks with my grandparents working in the antique shop and cultivating a likeness for furniture and room design. Before I knew it I was hooked! This was what I wanted to do when I grow up.
My career started in January of 1981 selling women’s shoes for Bakers in Wichita Falls. Later I went to work for a family owned high end department store starting out in sales in the men’s department. Soon I became a member of the prestigious $100,000.00 club for annual sales volume. Not too shabby for the early 80’s. Later I was promoted as young men’s and boy’s apparel buyer for 3 locations.
After 7 years of apparel I decided it was time to pursue my dream…furniture and design.
In April of 1991 myself and business partner Michael Albers opened King/Albers Antiques and Interiors offering a full scale design showroom filled with antiques, unique furniture, upholstery, accessories and lighting. In addition to our retail showroom we also offered a full scale upholstery workroom to designers offering custom furniture upholstery, drapes and bedding.
In February 1997 I decided it was time to experience new challenges in a larger city. I sold my house closed the business and moved to Big D where I continued my furniture career with Anteks’ Home Furnishings of Dallas Texas.
As a buyer for Anteks’ from 1997-2002, I was over purchasing of case goods ( wood furniture ) lighting and rugs, attending national furniture markets. I also assisted the owner on one of a kind buying trips. (That was fun but very hard work and definitely rewarding). In addition to buying and merchandising, I traveled to all locations to train, implement and assess the visual merchandising progress for the opening of new stores.
I later became store manager of the highest volume store for Anteks located on Lovers Lane in Dallas.
